Saved Views on the Junk Dispatch Board

Every junk office has a handful of questions it asks the schedule over and over. What does Truck 1 have today? What does the cleanout truck have this week? Where are the estimate visits? Which jobs belong to the property manager who calls every Friday? If answering each of those means setting the same filters again every morning, the board starts to feel like work.

From Paper Back to the Screen

Printed route sheets for the truck are covered in Printing Junk Route Sheets for the Truck. Those are for the crew. Saved views are for the office: a quick way back to the parts of the dispatch board you look at most.

In JunkBossPro, the Scheduled List works as the dispatch board, showing jobs by day with filters such as truck. When you have a filter setup you use all the time, save it as a view and come back to it in one click.

Views Worth Saving

Every company is a little different, but a few views come up in almost every junk office:

Start with two or three. Add more only when you notice yourself setting the same filters again. The views you actually open every day are the ones worth keeping; the rest just add clutter to the list.

The Morning Check

A good morning routine with saved views takes a couple of minutes. Open each truck's view for today and read it top to bottom:

Because each view opens straight to the right slice, there's nothing to set up first. That's the whole point.

The same goes for the evening. Open tomorrow's view, compare it with the Waiting List map, and add the nearby requests that fit. Then open each truck's view for tomorrow, auto-route it Closest First or Furthest First from the yard, and nudge the stops that need a set time. With saved views, that whole routine is a few clicks from start to finish, which makes it a lot more likely to happen every night instead of most nights.

Views for Different People

If more than one person uses the office side, saved views help each of them get to their own part of the work. Office user roles let you control who can do what. The person who answers the phone might live in the today views. The owner might live in the week views. A part-time bookkeeper might barely touch the board at all.

The board is still one board. Everyone sees the same jobs. Saved views just give each person a shortcut to the slice they care about.

Views for Planning the Week

Short views keep the day running. Longer views help you plan. Looking at the cleanout truck across the week shows whether you've stacked two estates back to back, whether there's a day open for the next big job, and whether a rain day would have anywhere to go. That ties directly to Scheduling a Big Cleanout Day: Estates, Garages and Storage Units.

Pair that with the Waiting List map. The saved view shows what's booked. The map shows what isn't. Between the two, you can fill a week sensibly instead of one day at a time.

Keep Views Few and Named Clearly

Saved views go stale like anything else. If you add a third truck, add its view. If you stop doing estimate visits on Saturdays, delete that view. Name them plainly: “Truck 1 — Today,” “Cleanouts — This Week.” A list of twenty vaguely named views is just another thing to search through.

Small Shortcut, Every Day

Saved views aren't a big feature. They're a small shortcut you use many times a day, which is exactly why they matter. Less clicking means more attention on the decisions: which truck, which day, which stop first.
